Paperback Editions

A couple of books of interest to epistemologists, now in paper:

Vincent Hendricks, Mainstream and Formal Epistemology, Cambridge University Press, 2006, winner of Choice Magazine Outstanding Academic Title 2006.

Jon Kvanvig, The Value of Knowledge and the Pursuit of Understanding, Cambridge University Press, 2003.

According to the book catalogue, both will appear in paperback in fall 2007.

The above isn't true. *That* post hasn't been deleted. It's replaced one that was deleted. Maybe something odd is happening with the reference of 'this' here, similar to when we record our answering machine message by saying 'I am not here just now'.

Ah. I take it all back - philosophy of language is fun after all.

Yeah, 'this' and 'that' can, of course, refer via proxy, as in 'this is Frege' (pointing to a screen) or 'this is Aristotle' (pointing to a statue). I wonder if one post can serve as a proxy for another. Fun stuff!
